The Guildhall Coffee House Series monthly events continue on Friday, April 8, at 7:00 when we'll get together to watch a movie. Which one?  Vote for your favourite by March 31.  Light snacks will be provided, and refreshments will be available along with a movie concession stand. The event is not for the general public, but Guild members are welcome to bring guests. Admission is free. An RSVP is helpful for planning purposes, but not mandatory.

About the films:

Despicable Me (2010): The animated story of super-villain Gru (Steve Carrell). He plans to steal the moon, but he’s confronted by an unlikely challenge; three little girls.

Groundhog Day (1993): A cynical weatherman (Bill Murray) is forced to re-live Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. With Andie MacDowell.

How to Train Your Dragon (2010): Jay Baruchel is the voice of Hiccup, in this animated story of a Viking teenager anxious to prove himself in the world of dragon fighting.

Mary Poppins (1964): Be prepared to sing along with all your favourite songs from the movie as Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke sing and dance their way through the classic children’s story.

Oklahoma! (1955): It’s the Oklahoma territory at the turn of the twentieth century in this timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, and two young cowboys are vying with a nasty ranch hand and a traveling peddler for the hearts of the women they love.
