This workshop is designed to give participants the opportunity in a supportive, low-risk environment to develop technique and confidence in writing for the stage. It is open to newcomers as well as those with some experience. Participants will create their own scripts which will be shared and discussed with the workshop group. In the process of discussion of the work, fundamental techniques of playwriting related to dialogue, stage business, stage directions and script formatting will be established. Participants will be free to write on any subject and in any form and genre for the stage—i.e., monologue, musical, comedy, drama, agitprop, experimental, etc. The work of the participants will be presented to an audience as a staged reading in early December. No previous experience is necessary
