Sometimes when people see the word “mime” they immediately think that there’s no talking. But, as director Malcolm Mincher explains, in a pantomime, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it’s probably the noisiest, rowdiest sort of theatre you can attend! The name “pantomime” comes from the Greek, meaning “we can act everything”. And that’s what’s in our show – everything! Slapstick, dancing, gender-crossing actors, topical humour, good-natured banter with the characters…all loosely based on the beloved tale of “Snow White”.
Producer John Ayris adds, “Pantos are family shows but there is usually enough innuendo of the nudge-nudge wink-wink variety to keep the grownups happy.”
