The story

Set in the 1920s in a manor house in England. It revolves around the escapades ofAubrey Allington, a hopelessly impractical inventor who is deep in debt. When he inherits a large sum from a relation, he realizes that if he accepts the money, his creditors will pounce, and he will be broke. His resourceful wife comes up with a zany solution. Their plan quickly starts to unravel as a parade of imposters and unexpected visitors arrive, spiraling them into an increasingly preposterous series of impersonations and misunderstandings. Highlighted by a series of faked deaths, absurd disguises and continuous physical comedy, this fast-paced farce is sure to delight audiences.

Casting for:

Aubrey Henry Maitland Allington (30s-40s): An impractical, perpetually optimistic, and unsuccessful inventor
Louise Allington (30s-40s): Aubrey’s clever and wily wife
Sprules (30s-s40s): The proper family butler.
Simpson(30s-40s): The household maid, involved with Sprules
Miss Benita Mullett( 60s+): A comical and eccentric elderly relative
Chesterman (M or F 40s+) : The stern and proper family solicitor (Gender non-specific)
Jean Everard (30s-40s): Louise’s friend who complicates matters further
Henry (30-50): Sprules’ conniving brother
George Maitland (30s-50): The long-lost cousin George from Mexico
Giles (50s-???) The long-serving gardener. Rough and coarse, but shy.

All ages reasonably flexible.
