Day 1: Sunday, October 4 | 1:00-4:30 pm at the Guildhall
Day 2: Sunday, November 8 | (Time TBD) at the Cultural Centre
o A director who has always wished they knew more about lighting and sound to make their tech week go more smoothly…
o A person who really wants to expand their skills into the technical area of theatre production…
o Someone who wants to run lights or sound for future productions…
…. THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU!
It is specially designed for directors with little or no technical experience (lights, sound, projections), or people who wish to learn how the lighting and sound control equipment works so that they may volunteer to be a lighting or sound operator for a CPG show or provide volunteer tech support to the CCC.
Day one of the workshop will be at the Guildhall on October 4, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM and will take participants through the theory of lighting and sound design and introduce participants to the various computer-based control systems – ETC Nomad (Lighting) and QLAB. It will also talk about running an effective Tech Rehearsal and Cue to Cue.
Day two will be held at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on November 8th (exact time TBD) and will examine the various lighting instruments and provide a hands-on experience with the Centre’s control systems — including the CCC’s lighting boards and sound systems!
The worship will be hosted by:
Astrid Beugeling – Former Technical Director of the UFV Theatre
Clint Hames – CPG President
Hayden Simpson – CPG Technical Director
Constance Coffee – CPG Tech and QLAB specialist, and,
The technical staff of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre
